1970 Surtees TS8

Here is a very well kept F5000 chassis of the 1970 Surtees TS8 #07. Great history and available now! Very seldom listed for new ownership!
The car was built in 1970 as chassis number 007. First raced by Peter Revson in the Questor Grand Prix at Ontario Motor Speedway in an F1 non-championship race that pitted F1 cars against F5000 cars. The race was won by Mario Andretti in a Ferrari.
It later returned to England and was raced primarily by Alan Rollinson. He won the 1971 Monza F5000 race in this car. After being raced by several club level racers in England, it was imported to the US by Brian Redman in the early 80’s and restored by Redman. The current owner purchased it around 1985 and drove it in approx. 15 to 20 vintage events over the next several years. It was displayed at Amelia Island in approx. 2001 when John Surtees was Grand Marshall, and the rear wing signed by Surtees at that event. The current owner sold the car in early 2000’s and subsequently bought it back in 2019. Their last event was Road Atlanta a couple of years ago. They are deciding to sell the car due to the fact that its performance surpasses their driving capabilities and they are getting too old for the car.
The car recently had undergone a professional freshening which included suspension upgrades, gearbox renewal and conversion to Weber carbs from fuel injection which brings the car back to original spec. It’s now located in the owner’s shop in Panama City, FL. A spare engine, windscreens and 4 spare wheels are included with the car.
