New Zealand Championship FU3Ls Up For Carbon Neutral Future

Formula E Publishes Season 10 Sustainability Report

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand will enhance its drive for a carbon-neutral motorsport future with a brand new synthetic fuel supplier for its forthcoming 2026 Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy championship.

The field of fledgling international single-seater stars โ€“ and big names from other motorsport disciplines โ€“ will all use Toyota FT60 cars powered by FU3L synthetic biofuel when the four-round championship blasts off in January.

FU3L is a synthetic liquid fuels company making a huge impression globally developing advanced, drop-in formulations compatible with existing engines and infrastructure. Each fuel is extensively tested worldwide to ensure performance, reliability, and environmental integrity before it is deployed.

FU3Lโ€™s advanced biofuels are synthesized from second-generation biomass feedstocks, primarily derived from agricultural and forestry residues. These waste-based resources are entirely independent of food and feed supply chains.

During combustion, the emitted COโ‚‚ corresponds to the biogenic carbon absorbed during biomass growth, creating a near-closed carbon cycle and resulting in a substantially reduced greenhouse gas footprint compared to fossil fuels.

Formula E Predicts โ€œVery Smallโ€ Performance Gap to F1 With Gen4

Formula E Gen4 Above View

Formula Eโ€™s Gen4 car which was unveiled last month represents a major step forward across every performance parameter for when it makes its debut in the 2026/27 campaign.

Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds told Autosport: โ€œThe jump weโ€™re making with Gen4 over Gen3 is bigger than any single jump weโ€™ve ever made in a generation. All-wheel drive, 71% more power, about 10 seconds a lap faster than the current Gen3 car. So thereโ€™s no question it shuts the gap right down on Formula 1.

What ‘Organ Crushing’ Gen4 Formula E Car Feels Like to Drive

Formula Eโ€™s jump from Gen3 to Gen4 spec will be by far its largest since the series was born in 2014. Conservative estimates by some engineers who have recently experienced the car, range from a likely 8-10 seconds faster over a lap. James Rossiter explains what it is like to drive one.

โ€œItโ€™s quite difficult to describe. It’s a very unique feeling. When you hit the accelerator and you get this feeling, all your internal organs just get crushed into the back of the seat and into the back of your chest. And it never stops. It just keeps going and going and going.”

Hankookโ€™s iON Race Sets a Strong Foundation for Season 12 in Sรฃo Paulo

Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (hereafter Formula E) wrapped up its opening round in Sรฃo Paulo, where Hankook โ€” the championshipโ€™s exclusive tire partnerโ€” supported the gridโ€™s return to the high-speed Anhembi Sambadrome. The iconic venue, traditionally known for its carnival festivities, once again transformed into a fast and technical street circuit for the opening round.

Throughout the race, Hankook supplied all teams with its race-proven iON Race, giving drivers a stable platform to balance outright pace with energy and heat management. The tireโ€™s consistent warm-up behavior and confident grip enabled drivers to navigate both high-speed straights and the slower, more technical sectors with confidence. As grip levels evolved throughout the event, the iON Race continued to deliver a steady footprint and effective thermal control, allowing teams to handle their stints without compromising balance or recovery.
