Cheltenham Motor Club has been awarded Motorsport UK Sustainability Accreditation, recognizing commitment to reducing environmental impact and supporting local biodiversity. The 2026 Hills Ford Stages Rally event will take place in Shropshire, featuring a ceremonial start in Shrewsbury, historic estate stages, and a route through the stunning Shropshire Hills.
This national accreditation forms part of Motorsport UK’s Environmental Sustainability Program, which supports clubs and organizers in reducing environmental impact while promoting positive change across the sport.
The award reflects the Club’s continuous efforts to ensure that the Hills Ford Stages Rally remains one of the most sustainable events on the UK rally calendar. Behind the scenes, the organizing team has implemented a range of new practices to significantly reduce the rally’s carbon footprint — including the minimisation of printed materials, the streamlining of logistics, and the adoption of digital systems across event operations.

BAMD Composites, a leader in advanced and sustainable composite manufacturing, has been selected by Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia to supply a full suite of eco-composite body panels for the all-new Toyota GR Supra Supercar, set to debut in the 2026 Australian Supercars Championship.
Using next-generation eco-composite materials, BAMD achieved a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to traditional epoxy and pre-preg carbon processes. While such sustainable materials remain uncommon across motorsport, Toyota Gazoo Racing recognised the long-term value of this innovation — selecting BAMD for its proven ability to deliver sustainable performance without compromise.

London to Brighton Sees 340 finishers on Seafront With Some Using Sustainable Fuel
Despite pre-dawn rain, 384 vehicles crossed the ramp during the 2025 RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run – the latest staging of the world’s longest-running motoring event, yesterday morning. This year was the first running of the event with four vehicles powered by Sustain Classic Veteran 80; a sustainable petrol designed for use in Classic and Heritage vehicles with veteran engines. It is formulated from 2nd generation bio-mass derived renewable hydrocarbons and further tailored using traditional fuel components for performance benefits.

Toyota Debuts All-Electric “bZ Time Attack” AWD Concept at 2025 SEMA Show
Pushing the limits of electric vehicle performance, Toyota will debut its first-ever battery-electric SEMA concept build with the bZ Time Attack Concept at the 2025 SEMA Show—a purpose-built, BEV machine engineered to take on both time attack circuits and hill climbs.
Designed to explore the performance potential of Toyota’s BEV technology, this vehicle showcases competition aerodynamics, motorsports-grade suspension and engineering, and a significant increase in all-electric horsepower over stock.
“This year at SEMA, we wanted to push ourselves into unexplored territory,” said Marty Schwerter, lead builder and director of operations at Toyota’s Motorsports Technical Center. “It’s a chance to explore, learn, and create something that shows just how much potential exists within Toyota’s BEV platforms.”

Formula E and the FIA have revealed the all-new GEN4 race car, marking a reinvention of motorsport and the next chapter of electric racing. Capable of rapid speeds, the fastest Formula E car in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s history has been engineered for the pioneers of today and next-generation talent of tomorrow, setting a new global standard for innovation, speed, and sustainability.
Set to debut in the 2026/27 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season, the GEN4 redefines racing – with 600kW of power available (equivalent to over 815hp) plus active all-wheel drive in every phase of the race. This is the most challenging Formula E car to master, designed for wheel-to-wheel battles and jaw-dropping moments for fans. Every feature on the GEN4, from active all-wheel drive and active differential, demonstrates all the technologies electric cars offer, making this machine more road-relevant for manufacturers and their future vehicle innovation than ever before.

Ferrari Implores FIA to Begin Planning 2035 F1 Regulations Now
Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur has stated his belief that Formula 1 should be looking to the future and begin planning regulations for 2035 already reports Motorsport Week.
“Probably the challenge is to stay where we [F1] are in terms of success, exposure and to lead the techno[logy]. And what is difficult is that we had a kind of inertia to the regulations to decide what will be the regulation of 2035. I would say that almost we have to decide it now. We have between five and ten years. It means that it’s not easy to imagine what will be the car industry in 2035, I think people are changing now quite quickly, and it’s a challenge.”

Eurostar Invests in Sustainable Double-Decker Trains
With demand for sustainable rail travel on the rise, Eurostar has announced plans to introduce up to 50 double-decker trains to its network for the first time.
The high-speed rail company is investing €2 billion in the renewal of its fleet, which has seen it order 30 new double-decker trains from French manufacturer Alstom. It also has an option to order 20 more, which will help it reach its goal of transporting 30 million passengers per year.
Dubbed “Eurostar Celestia”, the next-generation fleet of trains will start running from 2031 and be operable on the rail networks of all five countries that Eurostar currently serves: the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. They will also be key to its upcoming route expansion to Geneva and Frankfurt.
Report Sees Minimal Role for SAF in Cutting Emissions
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will make only a marginal contribution to reducing aircraft emissions before 2030, according to a new report published yesterday by Carbon Tracker. The UK-based independent financial think tank’s “Fuel Disclosure” report concluded that alternatives to jet-A are “unlikely to make a significant dent” in emissions this decade.
