This week Lando Norris explains why simulators are important, Rajah Caruth’s low-tech racing tool, an insanely expensive sim rig from Pagani and more. It’s all in the Sim Racing Roundup on Motorsport Prospects. Sim racing news for racers not gamers.
From Sim Racing to the Real Thing

NBC News looks at how Rajah Caruth parlayed his video game expertise into real-life NASCAR success. “At 21, Rajah Caruth became only the third black driver to win a NASCAR race. He credits video games with helping him on his road to success. NBC News’ Sam Brock reports.”
But Caruth’s success is not just from his skills on the sim. He also employs that most low-tech tool of all, the old-fashioned notebook.

Sim racing is incredibly useful in terms of building up familiarity with a track, learning lines and marker points, denoting braking zones and turn in points. It’s a commonly-used tool for everyone from casual track day enthusiasts, to F1 racers. Now, Pagani is taking it to the next level, collaborating with Racing Unleashed to offer a bespoke rig exclusively to its Huayra R owners, to help them prepare for one of the marque’s Arte en Pista track events.
