My Thrilling Adventures with the Prodigy Racing League!

Editor’s Note: I have covered Racing Prodigy here on News Racers Can Use since its launch as I believe it offers sim racers are real opportunity to graduate to real-world racing. Kamto Chukwureh has participated in various online Racing Prodigy events and offers his take on what it is like to compete online in Racing Prodigy events.

My Thrilling Adventures with the Prodigy Racing League!

I have been taking part in the Prodigy Racing League since the very first tournament in June 2023. Racing Prodigy’s goal of putting sim racers into real race cars, some people for the very first time, is something truly incredible. And with my dream of going from virtual to real racing, Racing Prodigy’s e2real series gives me a real shot at achieving that.

After competing in about 6 tournaments, I eventually made it to the finals for the first time in a RaceRoom tournament, following lots of battling with other competitors for one of the final spots. While I didn’t win that final, I did however get selected for the Prodigy Search Selection Show. As for the show, sitting in a Zoom call with 9 other racers hoping for their name to be called is probably more stressful than the racing itself.

One of the brilliant aspects of Racing Prodigy is that there are multiple ways of earning a Prodigy Pass; winning a race, gaining the most points in a time trial, and getting picked at a selection show. Some people might be quick through a 20-minute race, but others could be quick on 1-lap pace, which makes it a lot fairer for drivers and gives more opportunities for a Prodigy Pass, if the racing series doesn’t go as you would hope for.

I have taken part in most sim racing tournaments in Racing Prodigy so far. I have been a semi- finalist and a finalist in some of the competitions on RaceRoom and rFactor 2, and I placed 4th overall in the points standings of the RaceRoom time trial rankings. It has also been a wonderful way to improve myself as a driver, where I went from outside the Top 200 in the first time-trial to being the 4th highest scoring driver in the RaceRoom time trial tournament. I have been a Prodigy Search Finalist in 4 of the selection shows; unfortunately, I have not picked up a Prodigy Pass yet. For me, I am going to keep competing in the Prodigy Racing League tournaments until I secure a Prodigy Pass. Hopefully my time is around the corner!
