Rare 1966 Brabham BT15 Headlines the Marketplace

This 1966 Brabham BT15 Formula B race car, a podium-winning design by Ron Tauranac, is a rare find. Originally built by Motor Racing Developments (MRD) in London, it has a well-documented history, starting its life as a 1965 BT15 driven by Peter Gethin, who would later win the 1971 Italian Grand Prix in Formula One. Initially competing in British F3 for the Charles Lucas Engineering Team, the car received a new chassis in 1966 and continued racing in F3, F4, and Monoposto F3, with its suspension upgraded to BT21 spec for the 1978 F4 season. It won the Monoposto F3 championship in 1989 and was later converted to Formula B specs, including a 1600 cc Lotus twin cam engine, for racing in the USA.

The current owner purchased the car in 2022 and fully race-prepared it with the help of VRM’s race shop in Seattle. It now features several modern upgrades, including new coolant and hydraulic lines, replaced brakes and rebuilt calipers, a rebuilt Ivey race engine, new Spax shock absorbers, and a spare set of mag wheels with new Avon race tires. Other additions include a new alloy radiator, drive shafts, and bearings, ensuring the car remains competitive and race-ready.
