The Green Sports Alliance (the Alliance) and Global Sustainable Sport (GSS) have signed a strategic partnership with the aim of accelerating sustainability efforts through the global sports industry.
GSS’s Winter Workshop series will start on October 17th and will run until 28th November 2024 and will consist of 7 weekly workshops, all based on Global Sustainable Sport’s 7 Sustainable Pillars of sport.
Adding to the program will be Enovation Consulting’s Dr Cristiana Pace, Founder and Director, and Caroline Carlin, Head of Clients and Sustainability. They will lead Workshop 5 – Power focusing the discussion on the role of “Power” in driving sustainability in motorsport. Subjects covered willl include indices, accountability, certifications, standards, best practice and measurement. They will be joined by representatives from the motorsport industry working to develop better practices around sport and sustainability.

Following the FIA’s decision to allow electric and hybrid powertrains in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, this all-electric race truck, developed by Team Hahn Racing & IVECO, is the dawn of a new era in racing, where power meets sustainability. Full electric, hybrid and internal combustion engine powertrains remain as options for the World Rally Championship’s 2027 regulations, according to FIA technical director Xavier Mestelan Pinon as reported in Autosport.
“Today we strongly believe that biofuel or synthetic fuel is a good business and now after that we want to open the rules to electrify the engine and when I say that it could be hybrid or full EV. This is something again we need to finalise but this is the target.”

“Formula E celebrated a decade of racing last month that’s encompassed 10 seasons, 133 E-Prixs, nine champions and 86 drivers. And it’s made it this far against a backdrop of initial skepticism, near-collapse after just three races, a rebirth, a boom, and a return to the brink, but now has an acceptance of sorts.”
