This week, The Business of Being a Race Driver focuses on the costs of racing. Specifically, on getting to and racing in F1, Indycar or sportscars. I feature a trifecta of videos from Enzo Mucci outlining what it costs to race in these various series and what you can do to help yourself get there.
An important takeaway from Enzo’s videos is that as a race driver, you need both skill and salesmanship to make racing a career so listen carefully to his advice. Also, don’t forget to check out The Business of Being a Race Driver archives for help with the salesmanship part and the Racecraft & Race Cars Roundup archives for the skill part.
In addition to the costs of racing, I also have both a scholarship and shootout you should investigate if you are a young driver looking to maximize your racing budget.
It’s all in this week’s The Business of Being a Race Driver on Motorsport Prospects.

“Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Time to bust some myths.”

“Here is how much the ladder system championships cost for both F1 and IndyCar. Prices will vary in the real world due to the reputation of the driver and what the teams include within their budgets, but this gives you some good ballpark figures.”

“Here is how much the ladder to becoming a professional sportscar or endurance driver is. Please note that all these prices are dependent on your previous results and the financial situation of the race teams that you approach, but these are ballpark figures and what to expect.”
