Launched in 2015, the Australian Formula 4 Championship has grown to be a well supported series with at least 12 regular drivers in 2017 and momentum looks to be growing for 2018.
The championship features Mygale designed and built cars constructed of carbon fibre and featuring a monocoque chassis with power provided by a 1.6-litre turbocharged Ford EcoBoost engine. Race weekends are a 3 day, 3 race format with round winners being awarded financial incentives to compete in the following rounds The prize fund consists of $17,500 per round (1st ‚AUS $10,000, 2nd ‚AUS $5,000, 3rd ‚AUS $2,500).
For 2020 the series has taken a break while organizer CAMS determines the future of F4 in Australia.
