The British F4 Championship is the FIA-certified Formula 4 championship for Great Britain and is marketed as being the ideal stepping stone from karting to cars. It races on a number of iconic tracks and attracts a wide variety of drivers from around the world. It is arguably the most competitive Formula 4 series currently running.
Car Details
The car utilizes a Mygale chassis powered by a Ford 1.6 Litre Ecoboost engine mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift. Tires are Hankook racing slicks.
Notes of Interest
The series provides a number of driver development programs for young drivers including MSA driver coaching, driver masterclasses and sponsorship acquisition training. FIA Super Licence points will be awarded to the top seven drivers to enable their progression up the motorsport ladder and the champion will receive a fully funded test with a leading FIA F3 European team. The series supports a number of initiatives to help junior drivers compete in the series including the Ford F4 Challenge Cup which allows drivers to compete in 7 of the 10 races for under £100,000

The 2019 season will take place over 10 race weekends consisting of 3 rounds per weekend at 8 different circuits.
History
The British F4 Championship is a continuation of the renowned British Formula Ford Championship. Originally called the MSA Formula Championship in 2015, the current name has been used since 2016 and is part of the FIA-supported global Formula 4 spec being used throughout the world.
