The Chinese Formula 4 Championship is part of the global FIA Formula 4 ladder series to Formula 1. Races are run ins support of the Chinese Grand Prix, the The Chinese National Touring Car Championship and the World Touring Car Championship on 5 circuits in China. Currently the majority of drivers are Chinese but there are some non-Chinese racing as well, especially for the Blackarts Racing Team.
Car counts have varied widely in this F4 championship, mainly because of the numbers of competing series like Formula Masters and Asian Formula Renault so 2018 will be an interesting year for Chinese F4 to see if it remains a fixture of young driver development or just one of many series tempting a young driver.
