The Danish F4 Championship enters its second year in 2018 with somewhat a split personality. Racing Mygale chassis with 2.0-litre Renault engines, the championship has bizarrely allowed “adapted” Formula Ford cars (referred to as Formula 5) in a bid to increase their sparse F4 car counts. How long this is to last is hard to say but in 2017 the F5 cars were on pole for 3 of the seven events and claimed fastest lap in 10 of the 21 races. Hopefully F4 car counts will increase to the point where the F5 cars will no longer be needed.
All races are in Denmark on 3 tracks namely Jyllands-Ringen, Ring Djursland and Padborg Park. Daniel Lundgaard, brother of SMP champion Christian, took the 2017 championship title.
