The F4 SEA takes place in a number of Southeast Asian countries so is more of a regional championship than the typical national F4 series. Entering its second year it has run into a number of odd issues with re-scheduling of races and one bizarre race weekend where the cars all ran out of fuel during the third race so that none finished! Although to be fair to the organizers, they were put in a logistical nightmare scenario where due to a scheduling change they had to run their third race of the weekend directly after the second with no time for refueling.
Unlike many series, F4 SEA is run by one team, Meritus GP who supply all the cars and personnel. The cars run Mygale chassis and race in a number of countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines but have struggled with driver numbers. While it is very much a development series, you get the impression that a lot of the drivers are looking forward to moving on sooner rather than later to other series either in the region or elsewhere in the world.
