Formula Tour 1600 is the Quebec-based series racing Formula 1600 cars powered by either Ford Kent or Honda Fit-based 1600cc engines.
They race on Quebec & Ontario major circuits such as Circuit Mont-Tremblant, Mosport’s Canadian Tire Motorsport park, Trois-Rivi√®re’s Grand-Prix and even Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, in support of the Canadian F1 Grand-Prix.
Formula Tour 1600 features a combination of professional teams and “gentlemen” and amateur drivers and is a cost effective way to explore open wheel racing when graduating from karts.
It is also part of the Eastern Canadian Super Series together with its sister Ontario-based Toyo Tires F1600 championship series. The Super Series pits competitors in both series against each other over 4 race weekends for the overall Super Series champion.
It is also part of the Road to Indy Shootout giving drivers the opportunity to compete for a Road to Indy Scholarship towards racing in USF2000.
