The MSVR Champion of Brands is a series – not a championship – and is administered by James Beckett of James Beckett Motorsport, Beckett says, “Formula Ford has a superb history. The first ever Formula Ford race took place at Brands Hatch in 1967, and many famous races have taken place at the track in the last fifty years or so. As a result Formula Ford is very popular with spectators and competitors, and the close racing the category offers always excites those watching. I have no reason to doubt that the 2019 season will be any different.”
All Ford Kent-engined Formula Ford 1600 cars are eligible to participate in the Champion of Brands (1967 to 2019), and the races offer a great opportunity for the owners of all types of FF1600 car to battle wheel-to-wheel against each other around the famed Kent circuit.
The winner of each race becomes the crowned as the ‘Champion of Brands’, and for the next race, the champion will aim to defend his or her crown! The names of all race winners are engraved on the impressive Champion of Brands trophy, which is presented to the race winner on the podium at the end of each event.
