Formula 4 Sudamericana was a South American regional racing series using open wheel formula cars by Signatech based on the same chassis used in the former European Formula Renault 1.6 series. These are the same Signatech chassis and Fiat engines used previously in the Brazilian-based Formula Future Fiat. The series has raced on tracks in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay but primarily in Uruguay on 3 different tracks and is not officially supported by the FIA. The series has struggled to attract drivers and teams with a lot of racers in Brazil increasingly looking at Brazilian Stock Cars instead of single-seaters or moving directly to Europe or the USA to further their single-seater careers.
Good news! The series has been replaced by the Formula Academy Sudamericana!
