Osella FA IMSA 2000-1983

In 1983 the Chicago driver, Frank Werner commissioned Enzo Osella a single-seater to be deployed in the GTP class of the IMSA American Championship. The result is a coupé, the first and last built in Volpiano, on which the 4-cylinder BMW derived from the Osella-BMW that won the Formula 2 Constructors’ World Championship in 1982 and 1983 was installed. This project bears the initials FA 2000 IMSA .

The first “Light” Gran Turismo Prototype, powered by the superb 2-litre BMW formula 2 engine detuned to 350 HP for endurance racing. Enzo Osella himself wanted to personally test the car on the track shortly before its debut at the 1984 24 Hours of Daytona.

Very rare on the market are cars capable of mixing exclusivity and passion, such as this splendid one-off from 1983, which is also the only “closed” racing car manufactured by the Volpiano company.

Lotus Elise Street Cup

This beautiful Lotus Elise Street Cup is one of the very few cars with sequential gearbox and racing set-up, to be approved for driving on the road. These cars are increasingly rare and now impossible to replicate, as safety standards are increasingly restrictive. Consequently this represents one of the last racing cars, also used for road use. “the beam of the track car, on the road” is something like no other… basically the dream of any motorsport enthusiast.

The lightness and essentiality of the Elise therefore fully reflect the idea of a sports car according to Colin Chapman’s motto “Less is more”, with a 68 kg aluminum-silicon chassis, with non-power assisted brakes and steering and a position driving a few centimeters from the ground in an aluminum tank to ensure the driver a “go kart feeling” experience.

No airbags, minimal seat padding on the Elise, everything superfluous has been eliminated to make the car as light as possible for an unforgettable driving experience. In fact, the Elise creates a feeling with the driver, which not even more famous cars can match.

Feaures

  • Ultra-light forged sports-derived alloy wheels,
  • Polycarbonate rear window.
  • Interior in Alcantara which also continues on the door panels and dashboard
  • Carbon fiber aerodynamic package including front splitter, rear wing, deflectors and hard-top.
