South African Youngster Becomes First Female Driver in Africa to Drive the Rotax E10 Electric Racing Kart

Eight-year-old South African karting driver Giuliana Saladino made motorsport history at Zwartkops Raceway on 5 July 2026, becoming the first female driver on the African continent to drive a Rotax E10 electric racing kart.
The achievement marked a significant milestone in Giuliana’s rapidly developing racing career and came as South Africa hosted the launch of the new Rotax E10 Challenge, introducing young local drivers to a new generation of electric kart racing.
For Giuliana, getting behind the wheel of the electric racing kart for the first time was both exciting and memorable.

Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship’s Sustainability Initiatives
As the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship entered Round 3, the series brings you up to date on its sustainability initiatives.
Sustainability is another core element of this season. The ETRC worked with TotalEnergies for the first time among FIA-sanctioned international motorsport series in 2021 to introduce sustainable biofuels, and the system will continue into the 2026 season.
All participating vehicles use Goodyear Racing tires that raise the share of sustainable materials up to 60%.
Sustainable materials were applied, including silica extracted from discarded rice husks and carbon black based on alternative feedstocks. After the racing tires finish their use, they are recycled into retread tires for ordinary trucks.
Also, IVECO will run the electric truck ‘S-eWay,’ which it introduced as the official pace truck starting last year, again this year.

The Toyota GR Philippine Cup Pushes the Limits as the First PH Racing Series to Use Biofuel
After a successful first event at the Riverpark Street Course in Cavite back in March, the latest round of the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup brought racers and teams to Clark International Speedway in Pampanga on June 11 for a Saturday of all-out action.
But the weekend brought more than just racing. After the global fuel crisis put motorsport events on hold due to turbulent fuel price hikes, the latest leg of the TGR Philippine Cup also served as a “rolling laboratory” to test low-carbon biofuel and its performance and reliability. And what better way to assess the new alternative energy source than on a race track where engines are driven to their absolute limits.
