We Have Tossed Out the Cookies!

Cookies

Motorsport Prospects has tossed out the use of website cookies and has taken a privacy-first approach for the website.

Website cookies, while convenient from a site owners perspective, are by necessity intrusive on a user’s privacy. Implemented properly and with full transparency, they do enable a site owner to understand the needs of their site visitors but they mean the visitor is being tracked, something more and more people and governments do not appreciate.

That being said, there is an alternative to cookies and Motorsport Prospects has moved to a privacy-first model using Plausible Analytics as our website analytics partner, therefore moving away from the use of cookies on the site. Plausible do a great job of explaining this approach in their own data policy.

The goal of Plausible is to track overall trends in your website traffic, it is not to track individual visitors. We don’t use cookies, we don’t generate any persistent identifiers and we don’t collect or store any personal or identifiable data. All of the data is aggregated data only and it has no personal information.

By using Plausible Analytics, all the site measurement is carried out absolutely anonymously. We measure only the most essential data points and nothing else. All the metrics we do collect fit on one single page.

Plausible: GDPR, CCPA and cookie law compliant site analytics

I have implemented Plausible Analytics into the site and I am in the process of updating the Motorsport Prospects Privacy Policy to reflect this change. Once that is complete, I will remove the cookie-consent notice you see when visiting the site as it will no longer be necessary.

The mission of Motorsport Prospects has always been about connecting race drivers with the motorsport professionals that can help them grow their careers as well as providing helpful resources to these drivers. I want the experience to be as seamless as possible while ensuring that your privacy is respected and this change will do just that.

As always, please reach out if you have any questions about this change or would like more information.
