The Petersen Automotive Museum and Michelin hold a private tour every August that will allow you to get close to cars like the Ferrari 250 GTO. It is what gearhead dreams are made of.

  • Curbstone has confirmed the GT1 Sports Club and Clubsport Challenge dates for 2022 and plans a final round in Yas Marina and Dubai. “Destined to be the meeting point of an incredible collection of hyper-sports cars from the world’s leading manufacturers, the GT1 Sports Club has proved to be the best track format to experience hyper and super track cars of the GT1 elite in their natural environment.” The 2022 calendar includes three rounds. The first two meetings will take place at the Circuit Paul Ricard (France) and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain), and will run over two days following a Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS weekend. The final round will be at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi (UAE) in December.

  • A race-prepped classic Toyota is set for the Gooding & Co.’s Amelia Auction on March 4th. The first, a 1967 Toyota-Shelby 2000 GT, is the very first serial-numbered example built, and the first of just three cars that Carroll Shelby prepared for the SCCA’s C Production class — Toyota’s first foray into American motorsports. Originally finished in Solar Red and configured in right-hand drive, MF10-10001 is one of the original show cars used by Toyota Motor Sales USA to introduce and promote the 2000 GT publicly. After its promotional duties, Shelby worked with Toyota engineers on both mechanical and aesthetic modifications preparing it for the ’68 SCCA club racing season.
