In the video above, Enzo Mucci gives you advice on how to design your test days so they virtually force you to grow.
From the June 2008 issue of Grassroots Motorsports, Per Schroeder how you can bring the tricks used by professional race drivers to the clubman level.
“We believe that you don’t have to cheat to go fast. A fast racer will take the rule book as gospel, learning every chapter and verse, word for word. The winners know everything about their cars, from fuel consumption and minimum weights to exact starting cold tire pressures for a specific track. Winning is in those details.”

On the SCCA website, Rob Krider explains the 5 things to know before you drive a race car. “Whether it’s our own car, a friend’s car, or the car of a student you’re instructing, you need to know five specific things before you actually drive the race car. These five things can ensure you don’t harm the car (especially if it isn’t yours) and help you to perform better in the driver’s seat. Some of the things can also save your life.”

Bosch Motorsport’s hand-controlled electric braking system has been recognized with the Don Burgoon Most Innovative Product in Motorsport of the Year Award at the World Motorsport Symposium in London.
To accommodate this for Wickens’ hand-controlled braking system, Bosch used its existing LMDh electronic brake system (EBS) module, whose controls platform and display provides a significantly more robust solution.
The tech allows Wickens exactly what he needs to achieve sensitive brake control and fast reaction times when braking. Built-in diagnostics ensure simple and reliable functional testing of the system too.

Racecar Engineering explains how Absolute Racing tackles the Macau Grand Prix. “You can basically divide the track into two parts,’ says Fior. ‘There is a very high-speed section and there is a part with very slow corners. It makes it very difficult to have an optimum car because it’s always a compromise between sectors.”

More breathing techniques this week as Dr. Terry Lyles, an Indiana native who travels the U.S. as a stress coach explains how drivers competing in the Indy 500 manage their stress through their breathing.
“It’s understanding how to control my physiology,” he said. “So in the fighter pilot world, it’s a G-breath, how to breathe correctly. So I teach my drivers the same way, how to breathe before, during or after a pit stop or a particular corner so that they can pickup a tenth of a second on a lap.”

Race Car & Series Developments
Hyundai N’s latest creation is a souped-up evolution of the Elantra saloon that’s going to compete in the 2025 SRO American Touring Car Series, and according to Top Gear, it looks great.
“Dubbed the ‘N1 TC Evo’ and based on the pre-existing N1 Cup Car – which races in Hyundai’s one-make series in Korea – the visual changes include wider arches, 18in alloys whiter than Clark Kent’s teeth, and a redesigned livery. It’ll be hard to spot these relatively small changes with that rear wing casting a shadow over you, mind.”

Track Days
Development of Zenvo Automotive’s Aurora hypercars is progressing, with the engineering team now fully focused on refining the Agil and Tur models. Key milestones have been set, with a prototype set to debut at next year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, as the company ramps up ahead of a busy 2025. Substantial progress has been made in component design, powertrain integration and vehicle packaging, alongside detailed crash testing and aerodynamic simulations to refine the final designs.
The team is gearing up for a packed 2025, starting with the first test run of the custom-built Mjølner V12 engine, developed with Mahle Powertrain. The 6.6-liter quad-turbocharged V12, designed for maximum driver engagement, aims to set new benchmarks for power and innovation. After this milestone, the engine will move into real-world testing, leading to the dynamic debut of a prototype vehicle at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
PMW has more details on the project.
Neil Braun, president of Road to Racing Canada explains how joining a private race track changed his life. “As we navigate through life, it can often be challenging to cultivate meaningful connections. Yet, at the track, I’ve found a community of like-minded individuals—great people who share a common passion for motorsports and are generally really good people.”

Grassroots Motorsports explains how you can experience the speed of the McMurtry Spéirling, starting at $500.
“After selecting one of several preselected airstrips or circuits across the country to drive the car–yes, our official test track, the FIRM, is listed–you’ll need to pick one of seven experiences, starting with the $499 “Bronze” package that consists of short handling and acceleration sessions, and topping out with the $49,999 “Track Day” package comprised of four 20-minute on-track sessions. (In addition to the $50K, you’ll also need to have at least $500,000 of HPDE coverage plus be able to prove that you have enough money in the bank to cover the cost of the vehicle and have “extensive” experience driving on track–both in general and at the location selected.)”

The Drive explains how the new U-Haul “Toy Hauler” trailer is a game changer for club racers and beyond.
“What makes the Toy Hauler different from any U-Haul other trailer? Its size, for starters. The entire trailer is just over 23 feet long, with a usable deck measuring 16 feet long and 8.5 feet wide. To make sure all of that space is usable, the two wheel arch fenders are stepped, allowing vehicles to drive over them safely. So if you’re towing something that takes up the entire width of the trailer, you can still drive it on without damaging anything.”
