Racing Prodigy’s Prodigy Week returns for Part 2 of its revolutionary driver development program that looks to develop sim racers into real-world racers. Part 2 of their program is set to kick off at Atlanta Motorsports Park and I have details on the program this week. I also have a look at a sim racer who went from a computer game to Formula 3, the latest tech reviews and sim racing news and a shout-out to sim racer turned Grand Prix winner Lando Norris. It’s all in this week’s edition of the Sim Racing Roundup on Motorsport Prospects.
From Sim Racing to the Real Thing
Racing Prodigy gears up to host Prodigy Week at Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) from May 13-15, 2024. This event marks a significant phase in the motorsport industry, aiming to bridge the virtual and real-world racing arenas through the Prodigy Racing League (PRL). G-LYFE has a great overview of what the program is about.
“The adrenaline of motorsports is set to reach new heights as Racing Prodigy, a prominent sports, entertainment, and media entity, gears up to host Prodigy Week at Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) from May 13-15, 2024. This event marks a significant phase in the motorsport industry, aiming to bridge the virtual and real-world racing arenas through the Prodigy Racing League (PRL).”
Mainstream newspaper USA Today has a great profile of sim racer turned real-life racer Max Esterson. “This weekend’s Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix is a metaphor for Esterson and his family. Just as the race is two counties away, Max is two steps away from that highest level of motorsports. Four years ago, he moved to the UK, by himself, to compete in Formula 3. He knows graduating to F1 is both the ultimate goal and against the odds, but then again, he started on a $300 not-so-stupid computer game when even F3 wasn’t a dream. Now he’s the only American in the circuit.”
In honor of his first Grand Prix win, here is a video featuring Lando Norris from 7 years ago and the World’s Fastest Gamer.
