1985 Dillion Chassis C4 Corvette

Ray Dillon remembers this 1985 Dillion Chassis C4 Corvette well as it was one he was personally involved with. Back in the day, Ray was building 300-400 chassis a year for a variety of race series. However, the C-4 chassis was a “one off”. The chassis was designed to be very robust – he personally recalls spending a weekend fabricating the roll cage. The completed frame was delivered to Tampa sans rear suspension. The novel IRS was being sourced separately and was rumored to be from a GM developed IRS for a Pontiac GTP car. Power was from the usual Chevrolet dry sump small block. The body was produced by Advanced Composites and was specifically widened in the rear to accommodate the unique IRS.

With the unmistakable front hood, iconic race-inspired doors, and an untamed driving experience like no other sports car, there is valid reason for the GT’s celebrated reputation.
