Palm Beach Illustrated has a feature on sim racer turned real-world racer Max Exterson called Max Esterson is a Speed Racer. ““I think the simulator sort of rewired his brain,” Robin (his dad) says. “When you’re driving a racecar, you’re interpreting lots of data, processing it, analyzing it, and then deciding what to do with your feet on the gas or the brake and the steering. I think the simulators are so good that they refined Max’s ability.”

Mike Channell on the Top Gear website offers his opinion on whether sim racing can help “proper” racers. “The car I chose to race in was a Ginetta G40, in an entry level series set up by Ginetta specifically for first timers. The car itself was a great learning tool, a modest 135bhp but in a lightweight spaceframe chassis and with no driver assists. My genuine concern ahead of the season was that going racing would spoil sim racing for me forever. If anything, though, it made me appreciate how close modern sims get to replicating the vehicle dynamics and sense of competition you feel in real life.”

4) Get Drafted by one of the PRL teams: Williams, Guild, or G2 Esports; Thibaut Courtois Racing, BS+COMPETITION, or SuckerPunch. Receive a paid pro driver contract to race in the real-world Prodigy Three (P3) Championship.
5) Perform well to advance to the P2 and then the P1 Championship.
