Becoming a Professional Race Driver
Why the Best Succeed While Everyone Else Quits
In the video above, Enzo Mucci explains why the best succeed while everyone else quits. “This video was inspired by Oliver Bearman’s P4 result in Mexico and the topic I was writing about in the new book. It’ all about stacking your daily wins, over and over and over until… Once you have watched this, get straight back to work!”
F1 Teams Recommit to F1 Academy, Cadillac to Join in 2027
Formula 1 teams will continue to sponsor a driver in F1 Academy as part of an extended multi-year agreement, with Cadillac to join in 2027. “The commitment of long-term support from all 10 current Formula 1 teams, and the addition of Cadillac to our grid from 2027, sends a powerful message about the future of F1 Academy,” said F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff. We’re not just providing a platform for the current generation of female drivers; together, we’re building a pathway to support generations of talent to come.”
Porsche Junior Shootout 2026 – Twelve Young Racers, One Goal

For talented young drivers, being selected as a Porsche Junior opens a decisive door to a professional racing career. Since 1997, the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer’s development program has produced many factory drivers, Le Mans winners, and world champions. Now, twelve exceptional young drivers face the demanding selection process: but only one will become the 32nd Porsche Junior and contest the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
Two locations will host the Porsche Junior shootout this year. This Saturday, interviews, tests, and various assessments will be held at the Porsche Esports Performance Center (PEPC) in Cologne-Ossendorf — home of the Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team. On Monday and Tuesday, the candidates will showcase their driving skills at the former Portuguese Formula 1 circuit in Estoril, driving the 911 GT3 Cup (Generation 992.1) race car– the same car used in most of Porsche’s 35 worldwide one-make series in 2025.
The new Porsche Junior will receive up to 225,000 Euros for their 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup campaign. The international series sits at the top of the sports car manufacturer’s one-make ecosystem and runs as part of selected Formula 1 events. Candidates also benefit from Porsche Motorsport’s extensive mentorship, covering every key aspect of a professional racing career – support that has helped numerous Porsche Juniors earn a factory driver seat.

FFSA Academy, Technical Cornerstone of the First FIA F4 World Cup

For the inaugural FIA Formula 4 World Cup, held from 13 to 16 November 2025 in Macau, the FFSA Academy is taking on a central role. The French institution, long recognised for its expertise in training and supervising young drivers and mechanics, has been entrusted with the complete technical support of the event. It is a deliberate choice by the FIA, relying on the Academy’s experience and rigour to ensure the success of this first-ever edition. More details can be found here.

FIA Investing in the Future of Motorsport with Driver Development Workshops at Global Karting Event
The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, has recently provided comprehensive driver development workshops to the karting drivers racing in last weekend’s inaugural FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup in Malaysia.
Across the day, four workshops were offered to all the drivers as part of their entry to the competition. The FIA Safety Department led a session on current safety regulations, emphasising the critical importance of using homologated personal equipment and highlighting the serious risks associated with counterfeit or non-homologated equipment. A workshop on nutrition and anti-doping offered practical guidance on maintaining healthy racing habits, while media training introduced young drivers to essential communication techniques to support their growing public profiles.
Additionally, a session on the National Karting Ranking System explained the structure and purpose of the new framework, designed to benchmark driver performance across national, regional, and international events. More details can be found here.

Software Developer Turned French F4 Driver: Meet Yuval Rosen, Feed Racing’s Latest Winner

Yuval Rosen went from being waitlisted for the Feed Racing scholarship shootout to winning it all two months later. Feeder Series spoke to the 19-year-old about how he defeated karting champions despite having little experience of his own to earn himself a fully funded French F4 seat for 2026 last week in Magny-Cours.
“I was confident, but you always have doubts, because the other drivers are all so good, and they showed it during semi-finals,” Rosen said. “I knew I had a chance. I knew I was fast, but then I needed to see how the other guys stuck up against me. And the beginning of the final was a bit rough for me. I was not very quick.”
Vietnam’s First Driver at the Macau Grand Prix

Vietnam is not a country traditionally associated with motorsport, but last weekend the Macau Grand Prix featured its very first driver from the nation, Nguyễn Owen Tangavelou.
“He is understandably proud to take on the challenge of racing at such an iconic event. Speaking to MNA, Tangavelou said: “Competing in the Macau Grand Prix is already a special moment for any driver, but doing it while representing Vietnam makes it even more meaningful. Even if I was born in France, my Vietnamese roots are a big part of who I am, and raising that flag on such a legendary circuit means a lot to me.””
