Lando Norris Sets Up Racing Team with Ex-Prema Chief
Lando Norris has co-founded a new racing team – LN4 Fusion – and launched a driver development program as part of a two-pronged effort to help young driving talent on the way towards Formula 1.
LN4 Fusion, which has pulled together a host of top-class talent from motorsport including the highly-respected Rene Rosin as its team principal, is to compete in the Italian F4 championship, the FIA Formula Regional European Championship and F3 next season.
It has sights set on joining F2, and has already begun a British F4 testing programme as it aims to secure an entry to that category.
As well as the racing team, Norris has also launched the LN4 Legacy Programme. This is a fully funded young driver scheme, which will be led by former Alpine sporting director Julian Rouse.

Kyojo Cup: Japan’s All-Female Racing Series

Polo Cup Lite to Expand the Polo Cup Germany’s Youth Development Program from 2028
The Polo Cup Germany has got off to an extremely successful start. The high level of interest has demonstrated just how great the demand is for affordable motorsport in Germany. This demand is being met: from the 2028 season onwards, Germany’s most affordable touring car cup will gain an additional entry-level series in the form of the new Polo Cup Lite. The aim is to make the transition from karting to motor racing even easier and more affordable for young talents.
The Polo Cup Lite is aimed in particular at young drivers who wish to take their first steps in touring car racing, and it consistently upholds the values of the Polo Cup, namely to offer affordable, sustainable motor sport of a high standard for everyone.
The new series is deliberately positioned below the Polo Cup Germany and complements its tried-and-tested junior programme with a further stage of development. In doing so, the series organisers are responding to the great interest in the Polo Cup Germany concept and creating a further opportunity to offer affordable motor racing at a professional level.
ENVE: The Cycling Manufacturer Aiming to Build the IndyCar Ladder’s Next Empire

How Ginetta is Aiming to Feed New Drivers into SRO America
While Ginetta may not be a household name in U.S. racing circles, the UK race company has made a name for itself in fostering new driving talent within Europe. Drivers such as Genesis Magma Racing test and reserve driver Jamie Chadwick, NTT IndyCar Series rising star Louis Foster and even reigning Formula 1 champion Lando Norris all got their starts in the Ginetta Junior Championship in the UK.

IndyCar Raises Licensing Standards, Narrowing Opportunities for Drivers to Secure Rides on Budget Alone
Receiving a license to compete in the IndyCar Series as a new driver will involve greater scrutiny and stricter qualifications starting in 2027. Staying in the series as an underperforming driver will also fall under a new microscope the series will use with immediate effect.
“Our goal is straightforward: we want to make sure every driver who competes at the IndyCar level has demonstrated a high level of experience, performance and success, along with a safety record commensurate with competing at the highest level of motorsport.
Current and prospective IndyCar racers reacted positively to the series’ new licensing standards. “I think we can’t depend on [the new licensing standards] to get a deal done for next year, but I’m definitely in favor of this new rule,. I think it’s super important to prioritize the drivers who are performing very well in the junior series leading up to IndyCar, because that’s how it should be.”
Eurocup-3 Test Awaits 2026 F4 CEZ Champion
The penultimate round of the F4 Central European Zone season is drawing closer, with the 2026 champion set to earn a test in a Eurocup-3 car. The eventual champion will earn the opportunity to test with one of the leading teams in Eurocup-3, driving the championship’s current-generation Dallara 326 single-seater. At the heart of the car is the Toyota TGE33 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, prepared by renowned Japanese engineering company TOM’S, with ENGISER 101 responsible for the trackside maintenance of the engines.
“I think it is a great opportunity for the F4 CEZ champion to experience a new and faster car, which represents one of the ideal next steps in a driver’s career,” said F4 CEZ promoter Josef Křenek. “We arranged this test in cooperation and the support of Eurocup-3, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to give the best driver in our championship an insight into what the next stage of his career could look like.”

Picking the Drivers for the FAT Karting League F4 Shootout
The FAT Karting League is trying to tackle one of motorsport’s biggest problems: identifying talent without letting money determine who gets the opportunity. Its F4 Shootout uses data-driven selection to move promising karters into a fully funded British F4 season, with the inaugural prize going to Jackson Wolny. The approach offers an interesting alternative to the traditional pay-to-progress model—and a potential blueprint for creating more accessible pathways from grassroots karting into professional racing.

Bumgarner Leads Kulwicki Driver Development Program
Michael Bumgarner, who’s No. 1 in the Late Model standings at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway, has taken the lead in the Kulwicki Driver Development program. Bumgarner says KDDP has enhanced his growth as a driver and a leader “by teaching me the importance of professionalism, goal setting, and giving back to my community, both on and off the race track.”

The SCCA Women on Track program has already awarded scholarships to competitors across SCCA’s Road Racing and Time Trials programs, helping women offset the costs of getting to the events.

Costa Rican Karting Circuit Hosts Inspiring Fundraising Event
P1 Speedway in Costa Rica brought together 213 competitors from 71 teams last month for the first edition of “Con Motor y Corazón,” a charity karting event held in support of the reconstruction of La Posada del Alivio. The event set a new benchmark for karting participation in the country, recording the largest number of competitors gathered for a single karting event in Costa Rica to date.
Organized by P1 Speedway with the Asociación Pro-Hospital Nacional de Niños and Parque Diversiones, the initiative raised US$86,513, surpassing its original target. The funds will support the reconstruction of La Posada del Alivio, which provides accommodation for families of children treated at Costa Rica’s National Children’s Hospital. Held at the P1 Speedway circuit in San José, the event drew more than 40 sponsoring companies alongside families and motor sport fans, with car and motorcycle exhibitions, live music and a local entrepreneurs’ fair running alongside the competition.

Singapore’s Kareen Kaur Selected for 2026 F1 Academy Rookie Test
Singaporean driver Kareen Kaur has been selected for the 2026 F1 Academy Rookie Test and its new preparatory training camp, earning an important opportunity to demonstrate her potential in front of the championship’s teams.
The 16-year-old is one of 18 drivers chosen for the expanded programme announced by F1 Academy. It begins with a three-day camp at Loughborough University in England from 25–27 August before moving to Circuito de Navarra in Spain from 9–11 September.
Kaur’s selection is a significant step for the Singaporean, who has been building experience in both single-seaters and production-based racing as part of a structured development program with Evans GP.

Atiqa Mir Joins JK Tyre’s Racing Program

She’s currently competing in the WSK Final Cup karting series, with Round 1 underway at Italy’s Franciacorta Karting Track.
