The Porsche 911 Cup is set to debut in 2026 in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and in selected Carrera Cup series and I have the details in this week’s Racecraft & Race Cars Roundup. I also have some great racecraft tips, 2026 calendar news and much more!
Racecraft Tips & Techniques

Most races drivers blame the setup, but the best drivers adapt and deliver anyway. In the video above, Enzo Mucci will show you sim footage of him driving two completely different setups (one with extreme understeer, the other with nasty oversteer) and how he adjusted his inputs and technique to stay fast. “Adaptability is a skill you can train so please spend time on this. It could be the very thing that seperates you from the others.”
Grassroots Motorsports always has great racecraft tips and these two articles are no exception.

Ross Bentley of Speed Secrets explains how race tracks have a musical rhythm to them. “Race tracks make us move. They have rhythm. They flow. Sometimes they rock, sometimes they roll. They twist, they turn, they twirl.”

Samir Abid from Your Data Driven explains how to be taken seriously as a driver coach. “Take a minute to think this through. Why does your performance ability really matter? Yes of course the driving and engineering help. But does being better at these things automatically mean you’ll be a better coach? Maybe. Maybe not.”
Race Car & Series Developments

The new Porsche 911 Cup will make its world debut this summer. The comprehensively optimized one-make cup race car based on the current 992.2 generation of the 911 has already largely completed its development phase. The 911 Cup will be used in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and in selected Carrera Cup series including Porsche Carrera Cup North America from the start of the 2026 season.
Work on the new competition vehicle began at Porsche Motorsport in Weissach in January 2024. Like its predecessors, the 911 Cup once again combines series production technology with high-calibre motorsport attributes, transforming it more than ever into a thoroughbred racing car. Among other things, development focused on improving the aerodynamics of the front end, which has a positive effect on drivability. In addition, there are numerous improvements in areas such as safety and electronics, brakes, power transmission and the six-cylinder boxer engine, as well as vehicle handling. Michelin is once again the tyre partner.
FEL Motorsports is excited to unveil a revamped prize structure for the 2026 Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin season, featuring a total cash prize pool of $100,000 — reaffirming its commitment to supporting driver development and elevating motorsport across the country.
Beginning in 2026, $20,000 will be awarded at each of the five Emzone RCC presented by Michelin race weekends, split between Overall and Masters class competitors. The move brings real financial reward to on-track performance while preserving the series’ accessible, competitive nature.
“Our goal with the Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin has always been to create a national platform where talent is recognized and rewarded,” said Chris Bye, President of FEL Motorsports. “With this new $100,000 prize structure, we’re raising the stakes for competitors and continuing to invest in the growth of Canadian motorsport from the ground up.”
TCR rights holder WSC Ltd and the FIA eye a minimum of 30-35 entries for the inaugural TCR World Ranking Final at Vallelunga on November 21-23 this year. “Our target is to exceed 35 cars,” FIA Circuit Sport Deputy Director Stuart Murray said to TouringCarTimes.
The fourth season of the Indian Racing League (IRL) is set to begin with the Kari Motor Speedway hosting the opening round from August 15-17 in Coimbatore. Six teams will feature in Season 4 with each side consisting of an experienced international driver, an emerging international or Indian-origin talent, a domestic Indian driver, and a female driver, making it a total of 24 drivers.
The ARA continues to work to boost the sport of stage rally. Case in point: the organization’s recently announced National Rally Training Center in Owsley County, Kentucky. However, with 200-plus acres, a 1.4-mile off-road course and a 60,000-square-foot facility, there’s room for more. Much more, Backroads of Appalachia’s Erik Hubbard says.
“ARA’s mission is to advance the sport of stage rally in the U.S.,” ARA promoter Lance Smith says. “A big part of doing that is assisting our event organizers in recruiting, training and retaining the people who make it all possible. The ARA National Rally Training Center will give us a base of operations to share knowledge, safely practice skills and ensure we have a world-class rally workforce ready to execute events as the sport scales up.”
