The Weekly Debrief – Behind the Scenes at Motorsport Prospects

As I build up Motorsport Prospects for a winter launch, I just wanted to briefly fill you in on what I am up to. This week I will talk about the way the site is organized, the types of interviews the site will feature and why you have to register to take full advantage of the site features.

The Weekly Debrief - Behind the Scenes at Motorsport Prospects

Sections

The site will be organized into multiple listings with sub-sections. Currently there are 3 types of listings; Teams, Series and Services. More will be added as the site grows.

  • Teams – Currently focused on single-series but soon to include other types of racing. Here you will find all the pertinent contact information necessary, the series that the team races in and eventually, my take on their competitiveness.
  • Series – Again currently focused on single-series but soon to include sports, stock and touring cars as well as motorcycle racing. The focus here is on development series for young drivers and riders.
  • Services – If you want to build a career in motorsport, you will need to get professional help. From management firms to PR & marketing specialists, fitness trainers and driver coaches, sponsorship specialists and legal advisers will be part of the Services section. But there is one caveat. In order to access this section of the site you will need to register but registration is free. Why? Well for a number of reasons but the primary one is that it gives you an account on the site which allows you to save listings to your favourites in your account (always handy when researching for specific services for later review). Another reason is that it will allow you to receive the new monthly newsletter as well as have access to exclusive tools only available to members. Finally, based on the new registration system in place on the site, it allows me to see who the Motorsport Prospects community consists of allowing me to tailor the site to your needs. A comprehensive privacy policy will be published soon but needless to say that your information will not be shared with any third parties.

Interviews

Because Motorsport Prospects is focused on young racers and their development, it is important that they get exposure to resources and ideas they may not otherwise have access to so I am building up a stable of interesting and informative interviews that will help a young driver as they forge their motorsport career. Currently I am looking at interviewing prominent professionals in motorsport fitness, coaching, management and driver development. Each of these interviews will offer useful information for all racers and hopefully I will be able to convince some of them to write regular columns.

In Closing

Motorsport Prospects’ DNA is helping young racers get established in motorsport with authoritative and helpful resources. It will continue to be added to, will be global in scope and will always be neutral and independent. That is my commitment to you. I hope it helps you to go faster and to build a sustainable career in motorsport.

See you at the track.
