“On episode 202 of Inside the SCCA presented by RaceSchool.com, we go to school with Larry Mason. Larry is one of the instructors at the Fast Lane Racing School. He has a vast knowledge of what it takes to go fast and how to teach that to drivers at every level. He’s worked with the young, the fast and the famous! I learned a lot and I think you will too!”
Grassroots Motorsports explains how to quickly assess a student driver’s abilities at the infamous Green Hell. “How does he assess someone’s abilities and limits so quickly and adjust his instruction to make sure everyone is safe and has a good time not involving hospitals or tow trucks? Thomas took a few beats to consider the question before taking a deep breath and unleashing his truth bomb: “Well, if you are shitty, we are going to slow down.””

In the video above, Enzo Mucci explains some top breathing techniques for race drivers. “Controlling your emotions whilst in the car is a must, if you want to win. Here is one of the easiest and quickest mental performance technique (breathing) around. Train this in and it can be a game changer.”
Terrence Dove of On Racing Drivers by Terence Dove explains how to deal with evolving tracks on warm, dry days. “Tracks evolve, and nothing stays the same. If you ignore this, you’ll end up chasing your day, coming off the track wondering, “What just happened?” with someone telling you, “Oh yeah, the track slowed down.” And you’ll nod, agreeing it wasn’t your fault, when the reality is, you could have seen it coming and adapted.”

The Race looks at the paranoia that eats away at isolated F1 drivers. “The essential challenge of motorsport is knowing when you, as a driver, are the limiting factor and when it is actually the car that is holding you back. The line between those two things is often murky.”

Grassroots Motorsports looks at the 86Cup an inexpensive time attack series for the GR86, BRZ and FR-S. “For fans of Subaru’s BRZ and its Toyota-branded variants, the 86Cup Presented by GT Radial time attack league grants that extra competitive edge to miserly racers. Racing & Testing Opportunities
Applications for the 2025 FF Corse GT Driver Academy are now open which is free to enter, and has no ongoing costs for those selected to be a part of the program.
