Motorsport Prospects Partners with Racing Edge for Newsletter

Motorsport Prospects logo

I am excited to announce that Motorsport Prospects has teamed up with the motorsport-mad folks at Racing Edge to become part of their Weekly Motoring Goodness newsletter! The first edition with content from Motorsport Prospects will be in the April 14th newsletter.

Why? The number one request I have been getting in response to the blog on Motorsport Prospects, News Racers Can Use, was for a newsletter so that readers would not miss a column and could read it at their leisure. By partnering up with Racing Edge, you will get that and much more. So, I am proud to introduce News Racers Can Use by Motorsport Prospects. It will cover driver development, racecraft and the business of motorsport and will summarize the previous week of columns as well as offer original content and analysis.

Why Racing Edge?

I already have a business relationship with Racing Edge as part of my bimonthly Race Cars for Sale feature where I showcase some of the race cars (and occasional road cars) available on their Marketplace Network. Since they are in the business of building software solutions for race car brokers and dealers, and since their weekly newsletter features a wide selection of great motorsport content in addition to some cool cars for sale, I believe that this is a natural fit.

What Does Racing Edge Do?

Racing Edge is a software company that’s building a decentralized digital dealership for both race and road cars. Their ‘Paddock’ software suite is a white label platform that functions on a ‘network-driven’ principle – list your vehicle with one partner, and that car is then visible to all the other communities on the Paddock Network.

Their software is currently licensed to several racetracks, car clubs, dealers and brokers. Designed as a white label product, this allows the ‘community leaders’ to own and operate their own Auctions and Marketplace, all while being connected to the other partners and participating in the revenue share of vehicle sales and listing fees.

As vehicle sales increasingly move online, Racing Edge is on a mission to decentralize that future via their Paddock software suite.

Changes to the Publishing Schedule.

With the launch of the newsletter this Friday, I have made some changes to the publishing schedule of News Racers Can Use.

  • I am retiring the Motorsport Series column that runs each Wednesday. I will still provide a spotlight on various racing series throughout the year but not as part of a regular update roundup as I am currently doing.
  • The Development & Racecraft and Business of Being a Race Driver columns will continue to run on Monday and Tuesday.
  • The Sim Racing column will move to Wednesday from Thursday.
  • The Sustainable Motorsport Roundup will now be published on Thursday.
  • The Business of Motorsport roundup will continue to be published on Friday.
  • Various features and guest posts will continue to be published throughout the week. There will be no content published on the weekends since we are all busy with race weekends!
