Domenicali’s response? “I think this is not a problem of resolving the problem of Formula 1. Plans for South Korea to return to the Formula 1 calendar have been revealed, suggesting a new street race in Incheon for 2028. “However, after conducting a financial feasibility study, South Korea has been given a green light to host a 4.96km street circuit around Songdo Moonlight Festival Park, according to the Korea Times.”


Indian Grand Prix Return? Karun Chandhok Sets Timeline as Four-Step Plan Emerges

It’s not just South Korea that wants back on the F1 calendar, India is looking to return as well. Former F1 driver Karun Chandhok, one of only two Indians to have raced in the series thinks that the earliest the race could return would be in 2029. McLaren: ‘Mistake’ if F1 allows Mercedes to buy into Alpine

McLaren CEO Zak Brown thinks Formula 1 would be making a “mistake” if it allowed another A/B team alliance โ€“ amid Mercedes eyeing a buy-in of the Alpine squad.

There were discussions in the Concorde Agreement about should, over time, one of the [Red Bull] teams be divested. But I also have a huge appreciation for what they’ve done for the sport and how that was done a long time ago. So I think as long as it’s managed and watched [the Red Bull situation is OK]. But certainly adding to it [through a different alliance], I think would be a mistake for the sport.”


New Constructor Set to Join WRC Top Tier in 2027

The experienced Spanish team is set to develop a car constructed to the new WRC27 technical regulations in partnership with FIA member club, Real Federacion Espanola de Automovilismo (RFEDA).


John Probst Works to Keep NASCAR Up to Speed with Carmakers, in Tune with Fans

As famed antitrust litigator Jeffrey Kessler pushed and prodded NASCAR executives during a two-week antitrust trial last December, a competition-side employee surprisingly sparred with Kessler the most.

John Probst, NASCARโ€™s executive vice president and chief racing development officer, was questioned about why the racing series had filed for patents on its seventh-generation car and whether that indicated it was engaged in monopolistic behavior. Trying to put it in terms that the layman could understand, Probst told Kessler that NASCAR spending eight figures to develop a new car and not filing for patents on it would be like The Coca-Cola Company โ€œcreating a recipe and immediately giving it to PepsiCo.โ€

Roughly a decade into his tenure at the sanctioning body, Probst has leveraged that confidence and knowledge of auto racingโ€™s intricacies to become one of the most influential people at NASCAR.
