Las Vegas GP To ‘Make a Splash Again’ After Understated 2024 Event
The organizers of the Las Vegas Grand Prix say they will be โmaking a splash againโ in 2025 after a more understated second edition of the race last year. โWe’re making a splash again,โ Las Vegas Grand Prix president and CEO Emily Prazer said. โI think what we felt really good about after the second year was the operational delivery of the event. I think everyone knows – itโs quite well documented – that this year we had repositioned ourselves around our ticketing proposition, and we’re pacing really, really well for a sell-out.
The Requirements to Host an F1 Grand Prix
Autosport explains the requirements needed to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix. “F1 and the FIA have strict guidelines over what circuits can host a grand prix and they must be classified as Grade 1 to qualify. This is the top level of the FIA’s seven-tiered system that covers everything from drag strips to rally stages.”
Africaโs F1 Grand Prix Bids: $3B Race to Bring Formula 1 Back by 2027
Africa last hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1993 at South Africa’s Kyalami circuit. Rwanda, Morocco, South Africa, and Nigeria now lead aggressive bids to end this 32-year drought. These rival initiatives target Formula 1’s calendar evolution beyond 2026 into high-growth markets. Vantage looks into the numbers and details of each bid.
Domenicali on F1 in 2026: โAll the Elements of Attention Are Thereโ

Court Documents Show NASCAR Profit Exceeded US$100m in 2024
Court documents released in the ongoing lawsuit between Nascar, 23XI Racing, and Front Row Motorsports (FRM) have revealed that the series generated net income of US$102.6 million in 2024. This was down considerably from US$536.7 million in 2023, though that figure was inflated by Nascarโs decision to sell the majority of the land at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana for nearly US$500 million. Get all the details at BlackBook Motorsport.

Motorsport Law Roundup
Felipe Massa Hearing Concludes Three Days of Testimony

The legal battle between Felipe Massa, Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One Management (FOM) and the FIA over the 2008 world championship has been put on hold, with the judge reserving his decision. Following a three-day hearing in London, Judge Robert Jay announced that no ruling would be made for the time being.
These were the key arguments heard during the hearing:
- Massaโs counsel, Nick De Marco KC, asserted the FIAโs inaction violated its duty of integrity, citing Ecclestoneโs 2023 admission of prior knowledge. De Marco argued annulling Singapore would have awarded Massa the championship, with viable prospects for success.
- FIAโs John Mehrzad KC countered that Massaโs pit stop error (jammed fuel hose) and Ferrariโs strategy caused his 13th-place finish, not Crashgate. He emphasized Hamiltonโs season-long superiority and the claimโs untimeliness.
- FOMโs Anneliese Day KC and Ecclestoneโs David Quest KC echoed delay and causation issues, noting Massa did not pursue legal action earlier despite 2009 revelations. Quest dismissed Ecclestoneโs interview as unreliable memory.
No ruling has been issued as of when this post was published.
NASCAR Has Monopoly, Judge Rules Ahead Of Antitrust Trial
A federal judge on Tuesday โissued a key victoryโ for 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports that โfurther pressures NASCAR to settleโ the antitrust lawsuit filed against it by the teams. U.S. District Judge Kenneth Bell ruled โin favor ofโ 23XI and FRM โon an argument over the market definition of โpremier stock-car racing.โโ Bell found that NASCAR โcontrols the marketโ and NASCARโs argument that teams can race in other series โis moot.โ Bell found โNASCAR deliberate(ly), clear(ly) and unambiguous(ly)โ alleged that the relevant market is โthe market for entry of cars into NASCAR Cup Series races in the United States and any other location where a Cup Series race is heldโ
